Trade Review
3/5/24 $ES1! $SPX Took a buy initially based on the setups from Sunday and price ate that up. I used a pending order for the entry and did so without a confirmation on the entry. Normally, would have done a market execution after price confirmed but I took it off of the fact that the setup came from a HTF. Tried the buy one more time and also loss that as well.
At that point, I accepted my setup being wrong and reversed the trade and took the sell. I used the break below the monthly as confirmation to enter the trade and made back my losses plus another additional [amount redacted]of profits.
I had a little trouble with closing out and taking partials through the trade and that costed me a little time and money messing up on the exit. This is something that I'll need to consider moving forward.
If I need to partial, don't just hit the "X" assuming that there will be a prompt to ask if you want to "close partial." Since I'm trading on TradingView, this is the behavior I expected because in the TV platform normally that's how you'd close a partial.
