Trade Review
1/26/25 $MCG! The expectation going into the week starting Sunday was that we could drop and sweep the SSL under 2775.7 and possibly bounce to the up side from the 4H+FVG (2777.6-2766.5) and preferably at the 4H+FVG(M) 2772.1. The other potential setup was that we could drop lower into a 1H+FVG (2758.9-2756.1) which was in line with a STL that presented a +IFVG Manipulation Model setup. They were both wrong and did not play out as expected. The projection were very close but not completely accurate.
The first setup went immediately to the SL and never acted as it would move in my favor. When taking these setups, there must be a Liquidity Sweep (LS) and the LS must have a FVG that runs through to sweep the Liquidity Pool (LP). When in a bullish setup there must be a Bearish Liquidity Pool (-LP) and a Bearish Liquidity Sweep (-LS). Price must then through into the FVG, breach the high, and eventually create a +CHoCH. Once this occurs we can look for the entry based on the +FVG that forms following to take our new long position. The opposite can be said in a short position. This one should not have been taken at all because there was a breach of the +IFVG but there was no +CHOCH and there must be a breach/+CHOCH with a +FVG or a +CHOCH and +FVG as confirmation that there is a valid setup.
Entry: 2764.8 SL: 2761.3 Target: 2800.0 Adjusted SL:
The second setup was spot on and all the requirements were met. Price was in profits but there was only the overall target set in place. So even though price move halfway to the overall target, the trade hit the SL.
Entry: 2758.0 SL: 2751.6 Target: 2800.0 Adjusted SL:
