ES1! Short — 2025-02-27

2/27/25 $MES This was in line with my -IFVG MM setup. This was spot on and the entry was great. I waited for the news release but I still took the setup based on the structure and not the news in this case. I saw that there was potential for the move to run before the market opened and I went ahead and pulled the trigger since that’s been the common theme for the pass few weeks.

There was a 4H-Wick that was giving us this setup on SPX and NAS both where in the case of NAS, we were rejecting in the top 3rd of the wick and on SPX we were rejecting the mid point. We were also trading above the MOC and a 1H+FVG that were laying on top of each other. With this combination and a BSL+LS it was a matter of finding and waiting for our -IFVG MM setup to play out on the LTF and on the 1m chart we got what we were looking for.

The setup ran immediately to my target and beyond. This ended up being the biggest drop of the week and my biggest trade so far in making nearly [amount redacted]across each account. I took my overall target on this but in hindsight I could have maybe tried to enter again because price traded back to my entry and then ran even further. The initial stop loss on the trade was 4.25 points and the target was 24.25 points and I moved my stop loss 2.5 points in profit but price had already smashed my target before I could take a partial or retraced. This is the kind of move I want where there’s no hesitation of price and as soon as I enter, we move straight to the overall target.

Good: This was my best trade so far and this is checked so many of the boxes for me to get the variables needed for a good trade. The HTF lined up with the LTF and the entry and exit was perfect.

Bad: Not much bad to say about this trade other than I wish that I could have taken the whole move cause the market ended up dropping maybe another 400 points throughout the day. But I followed all my rules and did everything within my system.
