Trade Review
5/5/25 $MES Today I took the set up based off of the weekly outlook set up where I was looking for the price to push down and there were two set ups. One I was looking for the price to push into the lower timeframe point of interest and bounce from there. The next one was us pushing down into that NDOG from Wednesday/Thursday of last week. From the looks of it, I still think we may push down there because the Price action didn’t push us above the PWH. So since we didn’t get that push, I’m thinking that we may push fall lower into the NDOG. We had a strong move to the downside, and then we also held into the MOC which was a bearish candle. The set up I took was based off of the 1H+FVG that overlapped the MOC. There was a combination of three lower timeframe, potentially bullish points of interest, 1H+FVG, the previous day MOC, and the MOC from today. Once we traded above the MOC we had the news release at 10 AM that confirmed the entry and I was looking at price to hold above the MOC and you could see there was LTF 1-5m+FVG that gave the entry. I took the entry and the entry was at 5672.75 which I could have likely gotten a better entry. The SL on the trade was at 5655.00 and the tax profit was the PWH which we didn’t make it to. We were only able to make it to the Dailey opening Price and then we rejected and sold off through my initial entry and stop loss.
PDAs: Previous MOC, 1H+FVG, 4H+OB, -MOC inverted, 1-5m+FVG
Entry: 5672.75, 5672.50 SL: 5655.00 Target: 5680, 5688.50, 5705.25, 5724.25 Adjusted SL: 5666.25, 5673.75 Risk off 1:1: yes at 5682.25
Good: The good was once everything was settled. I was able to profit [amount redacted]which is 90% of my daily goal on this particular account. I was also able to manage the chaos that took place today without panicking. This was also a great way to start off the week with a win.
Bad: The bad stuff that happened today was the platforms all froze TradingView and [broker]. On TradingView I couldn’t adjust the SL from the screen, regardless of logging in and out, closing the browser and attempting to restart. I also could not adjust it from the [broker] online platform, this was also freezing. My last result was to log into the mobile app and make the changes but even logging into the mobile app that experience was difficult given the circumstances. Eventually, I was able to get into the [broker] web platform and make the changes to the SL but after all of the chaos, I eventually closed out the trade because I was not sure what the issue was.
There was also a mistake when adjusting the take profits. This is something that caused me to close out the initial 5680 partial in error where in that case I was trying to open the partial at a higher level, but you have to be sure that when you open the partial that you are giving it room to drag it to the area it needs to be. In my case because I was using the cursor to create the order it dropped the order where my cursor was and that’s not what I want so 10 contracts were closed out because of this issue. I’ll make it a point to drop my take partials much further away from the current price so that they aren’t pulled in by mistake.
