Trade Review
4/21/25 $MES
Great setup today. We opened with a NWOG to the downside and traded back into the gap over night. We rejected the NWOG(M) and never came back again. We also had the MOC range to add as an additional confirmation and a 15m-FVG in line with my entry and setup. I only had one issue today and that was I went into the trade without enough size on this setup. The price went well below my entry and setup for over 125 points (1250 pips) without any additional entries afterwards. On 2 micro contracts, I took 45.2 points (452 pips) of the move and I partialed at 52225 then let the last contract ride til the target but, price traded through and keep running. PDAs: NWOG, =MOC, 15m-FVG, PDL (2),PWL
Entry: 5252 SL: 5270, 5262.75 Target: 5238.50, 5225, 5206.75 Adjusted SL: 5262.75 Risk off 1:1: 5250
Good: Setup, execution, trade management were perfect. This was an easy setup and I should have taken full advantage of it. No news, clear direction, and straight to the targets.
Bad: Sizing, that was the only problem even though there were reasons for the size. The initial SL had to be above the last swing high which was above the rejection of the MOC for 18.5 points (185 points) so typically that a larger than normal SL (between 5-10 points (50-100 pips). Also, adding in the fact that the swing highs and lows of late have been forcing to trade with 20-30 point SLs (200-300 pips SL) it was more trying to stay in line and not over leverage. I am only [amount redacted]away from passing the [broker] combine in 2 of my [amount redacted]accounts so I think it’s more important to push towards this goal more than anything.
