Trade Review

2/21/25 $MES and $MNQ When there is a FVG on the chart once there is a Liquidity sweep, drop to a lower time frame and there should be a IFVG setup above or below the FVG we are considering our setup from. Today, we had a huge move that triggered ahead of the high impact news. The setup was one that was a little indecisive because price was pushing up really hard and was favoring the buy. Since I saw this the idea was to wait for the news release, observe the reaction to the news, and take the setup from the 15m-FVG. Price moved ahead of the news release and never came back into the 15m-FVG or any of the anticipated levels, we just dumped the entire day. Once we traded into the D+FVG, thought that we would get a bounce to the upside so I waited and took a buy from the D+FVG(L) 6098.25 but that was a pause in price instead and the price continued to drop. I was able to pull my account above all of my losses but today was a bit challenging.

There were a lot of issues with my trade sizing and stop loss management. Adjusting the SL on TradingView with my [broker] account was an issue if I didn't have it set at the same time i entered the trade. In most cases, I enter my trade with my SL and TPs set but sometimes when the market is moving fast, it's not un common to enter the trades and immediately adjust the SL and TPs by dragging and dropping them on the charts. In the case of [broker], I'll need to remember that if I open a trade without the SL/TPs and I'm looking to add them immediately afterwards, I'll need to pay attention to not add additional size to my trades instead. You have to specifically add a new order above or below and set the order type. The order window will open to a completely new order even if you try to click on the current order.

PDAs: 5m+IFVG, D+FVG(L),SSL,-FVG,IFVG,+FVG, invalidated

Entry: 6096,6096.25,6098.25 SL: 6091.50 Target:6109.75,6121.25,6132.75  (Closed out all my trades manually at 6102.75 and 6099.75) Risk off 1:1: No

Good: I made quick decisions so that the losses were limited. I recognized that the trade was not valid and closed out in profits once I noticed that there was a shift. I scratched with a [amount redacted]gain on the day and cover the losses. I can move forward know I'm back above [amount redacted]on all my accounts.

Bad: I didn't switch the direction on the trade to see that it was going to continue to sell off. Trade management which I mention above in details.
